Dimensional drawings at the page bottom

After the baffle is made for your chosen driver, the baffle is attached to the bottom.

The baffle wings are then pocket screwed into the front baffle along with a glue cleat.

I chose not to rabbet any joints other than the baffle and wings.
This makes a very strong joint and since the inside is not seen and the outside has decorative moldings, This is a faster and durable joint. Glue and screws. 7/8" oak cleating.

Carcass assembled.

I have left out any dimensions for the bracing. Use your imagination and if you have a different driver than a 2245, you will have to make sure you leave clearance to install the driver!

Not an over abundance of bracing but adequate.

The two inside brace panels are tide together

The center cross members are then tied to the front baffle

cleats in place for the Back panel which will be screwed on with finish washers
(never know when you might need to get in there for a new idea)

Pick your favorite cutter and make up your trim moldings.

I chose Padouk for the molding wood. It cuts and sands out orange but when finished is a dark red in color. The cabinet will be stained a pail orange to blend with the trim. This has 6 coats of lacquer and not rubbed out at picture time. After a light rubbing the sheen in these pictures wont be as glaring.

The top and bottom molding are made with two different cutters and two passes each
The inside baffle molding is 1/4 x 1/4 with a cove

A closer look at the moldings

Top molding is 1 1/4"
Bottom molding is 1 3/4"

15" Cabinet plans

Please look at the pictures for a guide on how the cabinet should be braced. The back panel of the cabinet also needs to be braced.
The Back can be braced with 1 x 2 vertical struts that have horizontal ties. It would be best to connect the rear panel bracing to the front bracing using the driver hole as access.
